Having placed this on a three month hold, four months ago, shortly before I swore off putting things on hold without a substantial down payment, once more kindness turned around and bit me in the ass. Now, having lost another sale for this piece, once again, this is available.
A perfect sword for the martial artist or beginning collector. Hawatare: 2 shaku 2 sun, 3 bu 7 rin (67.8 cm. / 26.69"). Shinogizukure, iroi mune, chu kissaki, shallow sakizori, chu kissaki. Bright chu suguba komidare, kochoji, ashi iri, wide soft habuchi, nado. The jigane is a mixture of itame with areas of mokume. Horimono. Ubu nakago, two mekugiana, and an American soldier's name skillfully inscribed. The blade is clean, but not in collector's polish.
The tsukaito is brown with shakdo and gold chicken menuki. The kabutogane is copper, and the fuchi an old iron piece with an octopus and catfish. The Chinese red scabbard has a few dings, but is solid. The iron tsuba is Shoami with Futsuryo inscribed, though meant to be mounted like a tachi. $1,900
