Iron Mon Sukashi Tsuba

A very fine mon sukashi tsuba from Momoyama or early Edo with seven mon. Excellent sand iron with good color, with very good tekotsu, both granular and globular. 7.83 cm x 7.3 cm. x 3.8 mm at the mimi. The two dimples on the side of the center opening are from some decorator genius attaching this to a lamp. There appear much worse in the picture than in hand. This was one of those difficult to photograph pieces. $750
