Large Tosho Tsuba

A large Early Edo Ko Tosho tsuba 8.9 cm x 8.3 cm (3.5625" x 3.25"). The surface is covered with granular tekotsu. This is not an artificial finish, it is the character of the metal. Beautiful rich patina. There are no hitsuana, and the only decoration is a large conch in sukashi. I had initially thought this to be Momoyama, but learned that it is early Edo, and so I have reduced the price. $1,500
