An ubu, mumei, sue koto Uda katana mounted for iai. Shinogizukure, iroi mune, chu kissaki. Hawatare: 2 shaku 1 sun 4 bu(64.8 cm 25.5"). Motohaba: 2.97 cm. Sakihaba: 1.97 cm. Motokasane: 5.5 mm. Sakikasane: 4.3 mm. Gunome hako midare togare, tobi yaki, ashi and yo. Ha nie, sungashi and kinsuji. The jigane o-itame nagare and masame, ji nie and chikei. There are a few small pits that do not detract from the overall appearance of the jigane. The boshi is gunome midare with hakikaki ending in yakizumi. The ubu nakago has been cleaned to bare metal. The blade is clean, and everything is easily visible, but not in Japanese polish. The tsuka is black tsuka maki with an iron fuchi with brass geometric patterns, probably early Edo, the kashira is horn The menuki are excellent blue-black shakudo saddles, and appear to be of a quality that they should be collected for themselves. The tsuba may be kyo sukashi of fans, but is not in collectable condition. The black ishimei saya is modern. The is an excellent sword for the martial artist or beginning collector.
