An early ubu aiguchi by the first generation Tsuguhira.  Signed,  Fujida Omi no Kami Tsuguhira tsukuru kore, and dated Shoho gen nen yon gatsu jitsu (a day in April 1644).  Takanobasukure (bamboo leaf).   Hawatare:  5 sun 2 bu (15.757 cm or 6.20").  Suguba in nie deki with notare gunome, sunagashi, kinsuji, small gifu, hataraki, nado.  The boshi is maru with hakikaki.  The jigane is rolling masame with small areas of itame,  packed with ji nie, chikei.  The nakago is ubu with two mekugiana.  He is rated Josaku in Nihon Toko Jiten - Shinto Hen  by Fujishiro, with a sharpness rating of wazamono.  Valued at 3,500,000 yen in Tokuno's  Toko Taikan, and listed with a double triangle in Nihonto Meikan.  NTHK kanteisho, given 76 points. 

Aiguchi koshirae, shibuichi fittings en suite with gold and shakudo leaves and branches and a gold Ho-o bird.  Silver orchid menuki.  Ribbed black lacquer saya and tsuka. 

The first generation Omi no Kami Tsuguhira, worked in Mutsu, and was the third generation Echizen Yasutsugu.  He flourished at the same time as the third generation Edo Yasutsugu.
