A Shoami tsuba from the collection of Reginald Bretnor, one of the earliest post war American collectors. A deep black dense iron plate with grape leaves and vines in silver and gold. 8.02 cm. x 7.42 cm x 3.9 mm. Six sided moku tapering and rounded at the rim. NBTHK Kicho (precious) papers dated September 23, 1968. The NBTHK papers issued these papers from 1948 to 1982.
