Seki Kanemune Wakizashi

An ubu mumei wakizashi attributed to Mino Seki Kanemune.  Shinogizukure, iroi mune, slight sakizori, chu kissaki.  Hawatare:  1 shaku 3 sun 2 bu 6 rin.  (40.2 cm / 15.83").  Motohaba:  2.88 cm.  Sakihaba:  2.04 cm.  Kasane:  4.9 mm. The ko nie base hamon is gunome midare with slender togare, deep ashi with yo and hotsure within the gunome.   There is kinsuji, sunagashi, and hataraki, nado.  The boshi straightens, but still has hotsure, a long kinsuji, and ends in komaru with a short kaeri. The jigane very dark is hadatatsu itame.  In recent polish, mounted in shirasaya, with a good waited copper habaki, NTHK-NPO kanteisho.  

He is the third generation Kanemune, active around Tensho (1573 -1592), and was from Mino Seki.  The first generation Kanemune, Eikyo (1429 - 1441), was the son of Mino Seki Kanemitsu    Oei (1394 - 1428) who it is said to be the younger brother of  Mino Kaneyoshi
