Oki Sadayuki Moku Tsuba

A large well forged iron tsuba with great tekotsu, signed Sadayuki Saku. 8.87 cm x 8.77 cm x Moku means the shape of a gourd or squash cut in cross section. This tsuba not only has the outline of a squash, but the pattern of the inside of the fruit as well. There were two generations of Oki Sadayuki, sword smiths, working in Kaga, and who worked about twenty-years apart. Circa early 19th century. Ref.
