Myochin Nobuyoshi Tsuba

A wonderfully manufactured tsuba in the style of a Myochin kabuto, signed Myochin Nobuyoshi saku.  Unlike so many of the later Myochin tsuba of this design, that are solid plat with the appearance of  a riveted kabuto, this tsuba is made up of twenty-eight riveted plates.  7.63 cm x 7.32 cm x 3.9 mm.

Myochin Nobuyoshi was active around Tenmon (1532-1555) ref.  Sasama, Katchushi Meikan;  Haynes H 07266.0;  Hara, 1931, page 155.                            $2,200
