Kyosukashi Spider Tsuba
TS0502
An attractive Kyosukashi tsuba from the Momoyama period (1573 to, depending on your reference 1596, 1600, 1603, 1615). A spider is not something frequently seen in Japanese metal work. 7.55 cm x 7.55 cm x 4 mm. Condition and color are impeccable -- strange, I have never heard of anything being peccable -- is that even a word? Thanks to Merriam Webster, the answer is yes: liable or prone to sin, susceptible to temptation. So with that, I am trusting that someone will be peccable enough to be tempted by this tsuba $650.
