Kinai Butterfly Tsuba
A butterfly tsuba, one of the classic designs of Echizen Kinai. 7.65 cm x 7.54 cm x 3.7 mm. Much of the gold and silver highlights are intact.
The Kinai used the family name of Takahashi. There were six generations, the first generation died in Genroku 9 (1696), the last died in the Meiji era. The first generation was associated with the Yasutsugu. It was believed that the first three generations did not sign their work, but according to Robert Haynes about half their work was not signed. $250
