Japanese Snake & Frog Page Turner

A very finely constructed and decorated Japanese page turner. A woven shinchu and copper handle with a copper serpent wrapped around. The shinchu blade is decorated in katakiribori and keibori with trees frog, and a serpent. The fact that the frog is holding a fan, harkens back to the Animal Scrolls of Kamakura period. This is the real deal, not a later knock off. An artistic piece, unlike another that I will be listing. 29.7 cm (11.75") overall length. The work is of a quality that I would have expected it to be signed. $550
