Jakutei Tsuba

A large mokugata tsuba signed, Jakutei (or Jakucho)[Kakihan]. Circa 1850. Carved in katakiribori and keibori. 8.49 cm x7.74 cm x 3.7 mm. Polished black iron surface with a dragon and clouds carved in katakiribori and keibori. Haynes has reference for this smith. but said that the style of the work and the mei would have him related to the Jakushi smiths, working in the nineteenth century.
