A shinto wakizashi signed, Genshu Hizen Harima no Kami Fujiwara Tadakuni, dated, Genroku Roku Nen Go Gatsu kichijitsu (a lucky day n May 1673), and inscribed Ho Ritsugen Joju Fudo Myoo Goho Mae (offer a prayer of fulfillment to Fudo Myoo infront of (honorific) treasures). Hawatare: 1 shaku 4 sun 8 bu (44.85 cm or 17.66 inches). Motohaba: 3.17 cm. Kasane: 7.3 mm. Sugata: hirazukure, iroi mune, shallow sori. The hamon is a ko nie based chu suguba komidare in the lower third of the blade, changing to a slightly wider notare midare ending in s ko maru boshi with midare komi and hakikaki with a slightly long kaeri. There are tobiyaki near the machi, linked together so that they might be considered a nijuba. There is fine ha nie, kinsuji, hataraki, nado. The jigane is a slightly loosely forged itame with areas of masa. There is ji nie, shiraki utsure and chikei. There is a small area of shintetsu as seen in the first image. Mounted in shirasaya with a gilt habaki with a boars eye sukashi. NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon kanteisho. Rated Jo Saku in Fujishiro's Nihon Toko Jiten - Shinto Hen, and valued at 3,000,000 yen in Tokuno's Toko Taikan. $4,800
