A long kumari otoshi wakizashi. Hawatare: 1 shaku 7sun 4 bu 1 rin (20 9/16 51.8 cm) Motohaba: 2.8. Sakihaba: 1.89 Kasane: 6.1 mm. Hitatsura gunome midare and togare, tobiaki, ashi, yo in nie deki. Profuse large ha nie with a rough appearance, gifu, sunagashi, kinsuji, nado. The boshi is almost ichmai, with a small area of hakikaki, more on one side than the other, before closing ahead and behind the yokote, leaving an impression of omaru behind the yokote. The jigane is a masame and itame nagare. There is ji nie and chikei. The jigane has a rough feel. The ubu nakago is tangobara with two mekugiana. There is a remnant a a signature that was removed. I can make out Soshu ju. However, because of the strong masame hada, I believe that this is belongs in Mino den. Because of the diamond sugata (wide shinogi & narrow at the mune), it is very difficult to get good pictures of the hamon at both the ha and shinogiji. This came from the estate of a well known California collector, and was professionally polished in the United States. This has never been submitted for shinsa. Mounted in shirasaya with a copper habaki.
