A nicely executed, late Higo Kamiyoshi tsuba incorporating plum, pine, cherry blossom, and bell flower. 8.17 cm x 7.58 cm x 3.9 mm. The shakudo sekigane have been over cleaned, but they should heal with exposure to the sunlight. $1,100 (old price)

Sakura sukashi Umetada school. 7.58 cm x 7.32 cm x 3.2 mm at the seppa dai and 2.9 mm at the mimi. Rounded mimi. Excellent color and tekotsu in the rim. This is similar to a Ko Umetada in Sasano Sensei's book Sukashi Tsuba, though that example is older and classically Muromachi, compared to this Edo example. This attribution is only a guess on my part. Others have opined Higo. Whatever the attribution, it is a fine tsuba. Boxed $750 (old price).
