 Akasaka Bird Tsuba

An Akasaka sukashi tsuba of stylized swallows in flight.  Shakudo sekigane.  7.37 cm x 7.2 cm x 6 mm.  Good color and condition.  The Akasaka were noted for destroying tsuba that they felt were not up to their standards.

The following genealogy of the eight generations of Akasaka smiths lists only the date of death.
